Job Overview
Lead the engineering function to build and scale an infrastructure layer for risk in tokenized finance, including an AI-driven risk scoring engine, cross-chain risk protocol, and institutional-grade analytics platform. Own day-to-day execution, stabilize core infrastructure, and grow team velocity while working with the CTO and Head of AI.
Responsibilities
- Own the engineering team, including running 1:1s, managing performance, unblocking engineers, and driving accountability across frontend, backend, and cloud infrastructure.
- Stabilize and scale core infrastructure by identifying and resolving critical gaps, establishing engineering standards, and building a resilient, production-grade architecture.
- Drive delivery by translating product and business priorities into clear engineering roadmaps, sprint structures, and shipping cadences.
- Coordinate with the Head of AI to ensure smooth integration between the AI pipeline and broader platform infrastructure, from data ingestion to API delivery.
- Build engineering culture by introducing processes like code review, incident response, documentation, and testing without creating bureaucracy.
- Hire and grow the team, owning recruiting, onboarding, and team composition decisions in alignment with the CTO.
- Represent engineering in leadership discussions, bridging technical reality and business expectations.
Qualifications
- 7-12 years in software engineering, with 3+ years in an engineering leadership role owning a team directly.
- Proven track record managing and growing small-to-mid-size engineering teams in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Strong full-stack understanding: backend systems, frontend delivery, cloud infrastructure (AWS), and API design.
- Experience inheriting and stabilizing broken or scaling infrastructure.
- Excellent people manager: conduct proper 1:1s, give direct feedback, and create clarity in ambiguous environments.
- Strong communicator upward and downward, translating between vision and execution.
- Highly structured and process-oriented, but pragmatic; ship, then improve.
- Entrepreneurial by nature: build, own, drive.
Bonus Qualifications
- Familiarity with data-heavy platforms, analytics infrastructure, or financial/fintech products.
- Exposure to blockchain or Web3 infrastructure.
