Job Overview
This role involves developing and supporting software solutions for mid-sized factories in specialized industries like metal, glass, and component manufacturing. The position focuses on using software and AI to make factories more efficient, effective, and strengthen Europe’s production base. As part of a remote engineering team in a self-funded, profitable startup, you’ll work in a direct, open, and harmonious culture, solving real-world problems in factory settings.
Responsibilities
- Develop and operate/support solutions at customer sites. You maintain what you build!
- Write and optimize business logic using various technologies and programming techniques.
- Write/use UI components to implement simple and intuitive UIs that enable complex interactions between humans, machines, and materials in manufacturing.
- Develop and operate infrastructure for monitoring and maintaining applications in demanding factory environments.
- Develop and operate integrations with third-party legacy software and factory hardware, including machine controls and sensors.
- Communicate with project managers and sometimes customers to understand requirements and translate them into code.
Qualifications
- High motivation, curiosity, and a ‘finisher’ mindset.
- At least 5+ years of experience as a developer, ideally in full-stack applications and contributing to open-source projects.
- Familiarity with TypeScript, React, ExpressJS, NodeJS, functional programming, and end-to-end testing.
- Knowledge of industrial protocols or experience in industrial IoT is a plus.
- Pragmatic attitude, love for challenges, and a ‘can-do’ approach.
- Excellent analytical skills, diligence, attention to detail, and ability to deliver results under pressure.
- Interest in close collaboration with the founding team.
- Fluent in spoken and written German and English.
