Lead an engineering team focused on developing AI agents and agentic workflows for an open workflow orchestration platform. Empower engineers to build reliable, composable systems integrating LLMs, tools, APIs, and workflows, while navigating the fast-evolving AI landscape to deliver meaningful outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead a team of engineers working on agent-based systems, workflow orchestration, and AI-powered nodes.
- Foster a culture of experimentation and rapid iteration, improving prompts, tool usage, and workflow logic based on outcomes.
- Guide team to design reliable agentic workflows with systems thinking.
- Support hiring and team shaping for AI engineering, distributed systems, and product-minded builders.
- Navigate emerging agents, tools, memory, and orchestration patterns to provide clear product and engineering direction.
- Translate AI capabilities into direction for workflows, nodes, and automation primitives.
- Guide decisions on agent architecture, including single vs multi-agent workflows, tool selection, memory strategies, and human-in-the-loop design.
- Focus on delivering real, reliable value to users building automations.
- Partner with Product and Design to define and ship intuitive, composable agent-powered workflow experiences.
- Ensure delivery of end-to-end agent systems, including orchestration logic, tool integrations, memory handling, and execution environments.
- Establish best practices for workflow reliability, such as retries, fallbacks, guardrails, and observability.
- Balance speed and iteration with determinism, debuggability, and user trust in automated systems.
Qualifications
- Deep technical expertise in AI engineering, particularly in agentic systems and workflow automation.
- Strong leadership skills to coach, develop, and empower engineers on their growth paths.
- Experience aligning stakeholders and creating clarity in fast-evolving technical landscapes.
- Ability to deliver meaningful outcomes with strong technical judgment.
- Understanding of distributed systems thinking and product-minded approaches.
