This leadership role involves developing innovative solutions for the air quality practice area, providing technical mentorship to a team of experts, and driving business development to expand market share. Responsibilities

  • Establish and uphold technical standards, best practices, and quality assurance processes across the air quality practice area.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop team members to enhance technical capabilities and leadership potential.
  • Ensure robust quality assurance, review processes, and risk management including health & safety.
  • Maintain compliance with company processes, SOPs, and professional standards.
  • Uphold technical excellence in project delivery related to air quality regulations, permitting, monitoring, modeling, and impact assessments.
  • Manage projects and staff, provide technical leadership, identify and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership, other leads, and client managers for high-quality project delivery.
  • Identify hiring needs, contribute to recruiting and training efforts, and champion company culture.
  • Maintain client visibility through contact, professional organizations, events, and presentations.
  • Build client relationships, collaborate on sales goals, identify business opportunities, prepare proposals, and lead pursuits.
  • Represent the company as a thought leader through presentations, publications, and industry associations.

Qualifications

  • At least 15 years of experience or equivalent combination (e.g., BS + 11 years, MS + 10 years, PhD + 9 years).
  • BA or BS degree in science, engineering, or business.
  • Strong understanding of air quality practice area and client needs.
  • Strong business development skills, including client relationship management and proposal leadership.
  • High level of accuracy, efficiency, attention to detail, and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills for managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel for project and business development activities.
  • Previous experience in an environmental or engineering consulting firm (or similar) with strong interest in environmental projects.
