Part-time Faculty in Data Science

Job Overview

This part-time faculty position involves teaching Data Science courses remotely to a diverse adult student body. The role focuses on providing high-quality instruction, student feedback, and program support within the Department of Engineering, Data, and Computer Sciences.

Responsibilities

• Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on assessment activities.
• Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
• Complete required tasks on deadlines, such as final grades and grading rubrics.
• Maintain appropriate professional training and scholarly activities.
• Provide feedback to the course lead regarding course content.
• Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field from a regionally accredited university.
• At least 5 years of higher education teaching experience, or 5 years of research record and current research in Data Science and AI.
• Research interest in Foundational, Generative, or Agentic AI.
• Preferred: Research record in Natural Language Processing, Transformers, Multimodal AI, Computer Vision, MLOps, Adversarial Neural Networks, Digital Twins, or Optimization.
