Part-time Faculty in Data Science

Job Overview

This part-time faculty position involves teaching Data Science courses to a diverse adult student body in a remote setting. The role focuses on delivering high-quality instruction, providing student feedback, and contributing to program quality and student success within the Department of Engineering, Data, and Computer Sciences.

Responsibilities

• Provide substantive, timely feedback to students on various assessment activities.
• Maintain a positive, safe, inclusive student-centric learning environment.
• Complete required tasks on deadlines, such as final grades, assessments, grading rubrics, and input for grade appeals.
• Maintain appropriate professional training and/or scholarly activities when applicable.
• Provide feedback to the course lead regarding course content.
• Identify at-risk students and collaborate with student services.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field from a regionally accredited university.
• At least 5 years of higher education teaching experience, or 5 years of research record and current research in Data Science and AI.
• Research interest in Foundational, Generative, or Agentic AI.
• Preferred: Research record in Natural Language Processing, Transformers, Multimodal AI, Computer Vision, MLOps, Adversarial Neural Networks, Digital Twins, or Optimization.
• Demonstrated record or potential for excellence in teaching and commitment to serving a diverse adult student body.
