Platform Security Engineer

Job Overview

This hands-on individual contributor role involves full ownership of infrastructure, security, compliance, and internal IT. You’ll have complete autonomy to manage these areas, working with a modern stack including Terraform, AWS, GCP, and Kubernetes, while supporting enterprise customer needs and team operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead ISO 27001 certification and establish ongoing maintenance processes.
• Take ownership of Terraform configurations across AWS and GCP to improve structure and reliability.
• Respond to security questionnaires from enterprise customers to help close deals.
• Streamline employee IT onboarding and access management for SaaS tools.
• Set up and manage MDM, tooling, and IT support for the team.

Qualifications

• Full professional fluency in German and English.
• Solid experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or GCP) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Comfort operating Kubernetes in a production environment.
• Ability to quickly learn new domains, such as ISO 27001 audits or MDM solutions, through clear thinking.
• Pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset for debugging issues and writing policies.
• Organizational maturity to manage multiple tasks like audits, RFIs, and infrastructure without slippage.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with ISO 27001 or other security certifications.
• Experience with compliance automation tooling (Vanta, Drata, Kertos, or similar).
• Familiarity with GDPR operational requirements (DPAs, DSARs, vendor reviews).
• CI/CD experience, including self-hosted runners.
• Prior experience at a B2B SaaS startup.
