Senior Principal Systems Architect

Support federal Indian Health Service (IHS) Electronic Health Record (EHR) modernization by managing architectural topics and efforts to ensure customer success. Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud hosting, and cybersecurity teams to develop artifacts and align with security standards.
Responsibilities
- Apply deep knowledge of enterprise healthcare architecture, interoperability, interfaces, and identity and access management concepts.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Cloud Hosting, and Cybersecurity teams on intersecting focus areas.
- Develop comprehensive architectural artifacts, visualizations, and narratives for logical, physical, data, and network schemas.
- Create architectural artifacts reflecting healthcare-related workflows.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity to align with NIST CSF, NIST 800-53, PPSM, and agency policies; collect artifacts for ATO approvals.
- Work with Configuration Management and Change Management teams.
- Participate in cross-functional teams implementing new or emerging vendor capabilities or greenfield initiatives.
- Maintain current knowledge of changing technology and evolve processes with management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of experience supporting medium-to-large IT projects.
- Experience with FedRAMP-authorized cloud environment (OCI preferred).
- Experience with large, federal programs and/or contracts.
- Experience creating high-quality, comprehensive diagrams using Visio, Draw.io, or other tools.
- Training/education/experience in task coordination; functional knowledge of IT project management concepts and tools.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance, including background investigation and fingerprinting.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with OCI Realm 2 (OC2) preferred.
- Experience with the Oracle Health (Cerner Millennium) system preferred.
- Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Veterans Affairs (VA), Indian Health Service (IHS), or other federal healthcare agencies.
- Task management experience and/or skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage changing priorities.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with internal/external teams, stakeholders, and executive leadership.
- Ability to work across multiple U.S. time zones.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines, following detailed policies, processes, procedures, and work instructions.
