The Support Enforcement Specialist serves as a program agent for assigned child support cases, engaging families to ensure financial and family support. This role involves managing a large caseload with a focus on efficiency, accountability, and building helping relationships with parents.
Responsibilities
- Locating non-custodial parents
- Working with other state and country child support agencies
- Establishing paternity
- Determining and assessing child support obligations and health care coverage
- Ensuring parents comply with child and/or medical support orders through administrative and judicial enforcement actions
- Providing testimony in court proceedings when required
- Connecting parents with resources and partners to support self-sufficiency and active participation in their children’s lives
Qualifications
- Delivering high level of customer service while maximizing payment collection efforts
- Handling sensitive case information including legal, financial, medical, and personal circumstances
- Researching, analyzing, and following up on accounts to verify protocols
- Interacting with customers to resolve challenges using multiple communication channels
- Developing effective partnerships within and across teams
- Building strong relationships with customers who may evade or distrust the system
- Managing high-volume, detail-oriented work with multiple conflicting priorities
