Job Overview

This senior operational leadership role involves strategic oversight, performance, and continuous improvement of all maintenance activities for the fixed-wing fleet, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and aircraft readiness for air medical transport services. The position manages the full lifecycle of maintenance planning and execution while collaborating with operations and leadership to maximize fleet availability.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities for fixed-wing aircraft, ensuring compliance with FAA Part 135 requirements, OEM standards, and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate aircraft records, logbooks, and digital tracking systems; ensure timely compliance with airworthiness directives, service bulletins, and inspections.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise maintenance technicians; promote a safety-first culture and provide training and development opportunities.
  • Support the Safety Management System, participate in audits and investigations, and ensure preparedness for FAA and internal audits.
  • Coordinate with flight operations to minimize downtime; manage inventory, vendor relationships, and procurement for cost-effective support.
  • Develop and manage maintenance budgets, monitor expenditures, and provide forecasts for aircraft lifecycle planning.

Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) certificate required.
  • Completion of NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 within 90 days of hire.
  • Completion of Just Culture training within 90 days of hire.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Deep understanding of FAA regulations, manufacturer requirements, and Part 135 operational standards.
