Job Overview

This role involves providing technical support and strategic analysis for developing and implementing automated grants management processes within a federal office. The focus is on identifying risks, ensuring compliance, and enhancing efficiency without directly executing grants work.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input on designing automated grants management processes aligned with federal regulations.
  • Support development and implementation of systems and tools to streamline operations.
  • Identify risks and challenges in current processes.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on federal grants regulations.
  • Oversee implementation of operational plans for automation, including tracking and reporting.
  • Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-divisional teams to align initiatives with goals.
  • Analyze complex financial and operational issues related to grants management.
  • Conduct risk assessments for proposed automation processes.
  • Provide summaries of strategies, risks, and solutions to stakeholders.
  • Prepare findings and recommendations to leadership.
  • Draft training materials and technical guidance on automated processes.
  • Support development of tools, templates, and resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in federal grants specific to HHS/ACF, including technical support and strategic planning for process improvements and automation.
  • Proven ability to oversee large projects and manage portfolios, ensuring compliance and financial integrity.
  • Demonstrated success in analyzing complex financial and operational issues and developing solutions with subject matter experts.
  • Knowledge of federal grants and grant-making processes (experience with GrantSolutions and Grants.gov highly preferred).
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with program office staff and external partners.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills for complex grants management issues.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including developing summaries and recommendations to leadership.
  • Proficiency in tracking and monitoring grant actions across large portfolios.
  • Ability to work independently.
