This role involves providing technical support and strategic analysis for developing and implementing automated grants management processes within a federal office. The focus is on identifying risks, ensuring compliance, and enhancing efficiency without directly executing grants work.
Responsibilities
- Provide input on designing automated grants management processes aligned with federal regulations.
- Support development and implementation of systems and tools to streamline operations.
- Identify risks and challenges in current processes.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on federal grants regulations.
- Oversee implementation of operational plans for automation, including tracking and reporting.
- Provide recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-divisional teams to align initiatives with goals.
- Analyze complex financial and operational issues related to grants management.
- Conduct risk assessments for proposed automation processes.
- Provide summaries of strategies, risks, and solutions to stakeholders.
- Prepare findings and recommendations to leadership.
- Draft training materials and technical guidance on automated processes.
- Support development of tools, templates, and resources.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in federal grants specific to HHS/ACF, including technical support and strategic planning for process improvements and automation.
- Proven ability to oversee large projects and manage portfolios, ensuring compliance and financial integrity.
- Demonstrated success in analyzing complex financial and operational issues and developing solutions with subject matter experts.
- Knowledge of federal grants and grant-making processes (experience with GrantSolutions and Grants.gov highly preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with program office staff and external partners.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills for complex grants management issues.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including developing summaries and recommendations to leadership.
- Proficiency in tracking and monitoring grant actions across large portfolios.
- Ability to work independently.
