Job Overview

This role focuses on promoting business in referenced-based pricing and cost containment solutions, targeting brokers to address market opportunities, particularly in Texas and surrounding areas. As an independent contributor, the position involves leading business development through market analysis and presence, driving product direction based on customer needs, and contributing to top-line revenue growth. It reports to the Chief Growth Officer and is fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Chief Growth Officer and senior leadership to refine best practices, identify growth opportunities, and develop value partners in the broker space.
  • Negotiate complex deals requiring cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Provide client and internal training on new processes or procedures.
  • Maintain current key competitor SWOTS analysis.
  • Stay informed on technology, competitor trends, and legal/regulatory specifications to identify target markets.
  • Learn product offerings and adapt messaging to clients.
  • Present to C-Suite in person or via web-based applications.
  • Work directly with clients through RFP processes and implementation.
  • Collaborate with Client Account Managers to ensure SLAs are upheld.
  • Work with operational leads on RFP processes, strategy development, pricing, and senior management sign-off.
  • Ensure pricing models remain competitive with operations and finance.
  • Conduct analysis of budgeted to actual results for client and business development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Management, or other relevant insurance/business field required.
  • Minimum 5+ years sales experience with a successful track record of hitting and exceeding sales quotas.
  • Extensive knowledge of the self-funded group health industry required.
  • Experience or knowledge of selling in Cost Containment, Broker, TPA, Stop Loss space required.
  • Outstanding customer service, verbal/written communication, decision-making, problem-solving, forecasting, budgeting, and leadership skills.
  • Acute ability to drive new business development and manage channel partners.
  • Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to travel up to 20%.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to read and understand process flows and procedures.
  • Willingness to work a 5-day schedule and additional hours if necessary.
  • Able to sit or stand for two hours at a time and operate computers and phones.
