Work is primarily remote with up to 50% overnight travel, including frequent visits to customer sites.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of market, customer challenges, products, and solutions, applying understanding of production practices, nutrition, and data to address needs.
- Articulate product features and benefits, providing services that enhance customer business objectives.
- Tailor sales approaches, engage customers with active listening and data-driven discussions, offer solutions, and conduct follow-ups.
- Build and sustain customer partnerships by understanding their business, strengthening relationships, and collaborating with internal teams.
- Analyze market trends, create and execute territory business plans, review progress, and adjust for optimal results.
- Oversee account forecasts, sales budgets, and promotional spending; collaborate on sales strategies and research market opportunities.
- Lead by example, manage pressure professionally, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Agriculture or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years in direct sales (preferred); 5+ years in agriculture production environment (preferred); 3+ years in business management or sales planning.
- Knowledge of swine economics, sales principles, nutrition, and health.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, time management, and sales presentation abilities.
- Adaptable, goal-driven, energetic; valid driver’s license; ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Agriculture or related field; candidates residing in Ohio, Michigan, or Indiana.
