The work is primarily remote with up to 50% overnight travel.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of customer challenges, products, and solutions, applying understanding of production practices, nutrition, and data to address needs.
- Articulate product features and benefits, providing services that enhance customer business objectives.
- Tailor sales approaches, engage customers with active listening and data-driven discussions, and secure commitments through value-driven strategies.
- Conduct follow-ups to ensure customer needs are met.
- Develop understanding of customer business and decision makers, strengthen relationships with influencers, and collaborate with teams to maximize value.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries for satisfaction.
- Analyze market trends and data to identify opportunities, create and execute territory business plans, and review progress with leadership.
- Lead by example, manage forecasts, budgets, and promotional spending, collaborate on sales strategies, and research market opportunities.
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Agriculture or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years in direct sales (preferred), 5+ years in agriculture production environment (preferred), and 3+ years in business management or sales planning.
- Knowledge of swine economics and sales principles, general understanding of swine nutrition and health.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, problem-solving, time management, and sales presentation abilities.
- Adaptable, goal-driven, and energetic in dynamic environments.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Adherence to safety procedures.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree in Agriculture or related field.
