This role involves driving business growth through B2B sales of electricity and renewable energy solutions to commercial and industrial customers. The position focuses on closing and managing customer accounts, minimizing energy costs, managing commodity risks, and supporting sustainability goals, while contributing to P&L objectives in a virtual US-based environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage an existing portfolio of customer relationships.
- Prospect for new customer relationships and develop broker relationships.
- Maximize portfolios represented by existing brokers and maintain relationships with consulting companies.
- Negotiate and close profitable deals with customers.
- Deliver new annual gross margin of between $1-3 million as determined by management.
- Own and manage overall customer relationships and deal implementation, coordinating with internal teams.
- Manage and prioritize an opportunity pipeline.
- Understand regulatory environment, deal structures, and leverage relationships for value.
- Decline non-value accretive customers and products.
Qualifications
- Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant commensurate experience.
- 3+ years of experience in US deregulated electricity markets (e.g., ERCOT, PJM, ISO-NE, NYISO, MISO, CAISO).
- Knowledge of electricity and renewable energy markets, product structures, and components.
- Experience selling energy and related services (e.g., wind, solar, onsite generation, demand response, energy efficiencies).
- High-level understanding of market regulations, emerging technologies, and trends in US electricity.
- Strong interpersonal, analytical, time management, and communication skills.
- Commercial mindset, problem-solving ability, and understanding of energy contracts.
- Industry network in power and/or renewable energy sectors.
- Flexible, creative, adaptable, and comfortable in a target-driven, fast-changing environment.
