This role involves driving growth in overhead crane modernization by identifying, developing, and closing opportunities with customers. The position requires technical expertise in electrical, mechanical, structural, and control systems to deliver solutions that enhance safety, reliability, capacity, and performance. It includes collaboration with engineering, project management, and operations teams, with approximately 50-75% travel across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Serve as subject matter expert for overhead crane modernization solutions in assigned territory or accounts.
- Identify and develop high-value modernization opportunities, including electrical upgrades, control replacements, mechanical refurbishments, and capacity projects.
- Conduct on-site assessments of overhead crane systems to evaluate condition and potential.
- Develop and execute sales plans aligned with growth targets, meeting sales and margin objectives.
- Build and nurture long-term relationships with customer stakeholders from maintenance to executive levels.
- Collaborate with teams to create scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.
- Present value propositions on safety, reliability, and cost reduction.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts.
- Manage customer communication throughout project phases and identify follow-on opportunities.
- Support marketing and sales enablement efforts.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience in overhead crane systems, sales, or modernization may substitute.
- Five or more years of experience in overhead crane systems, modernization, industrial equipment sales, or related technical field.
- Strong knowledge of overhead crane electrical systems, controls, mechanical components, runway systems, and structural interfaces.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and close complex technical projects.
- Effective communication with personnel from shop floor to executives.
- Competency in opportunity assessment, project scoping, financial analysis, project management, and negotiation.
