This role involves driving sales growth in the HVAC controls market by managing territories, targeting prospects, and promoting products through training and negotiations. The position emphasizes a solutions-based approach, building relationships with reps, engineers, and contractors, and achieving revenue targets in a dynamic, performance-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Drive the entire sales process: target top prospects, identify solutions, conduct product trainings, negotiate, and close deals.
- Create and conduct training for reps, engineers, and contractors.
- Sell and promote products and services to new customers.
- Grow, develop, and manage existing and new independent Sales Rep Firms across assigned territory to achieve revenue growth.
- Deliver profitable new business revenue growth while meeting and exceeding targets and quotas.
- Build a consistent track record of performance using multiple sales approaches.
- Provide solutions-based approach to sales opportunities.
- Attend tradeshows to promote the company.
- Manage sales channel through buy/sell rep network and call on reps, contractors, and engineers.
Qualifications
- Persistence and a ‘do what it takes’ attitude.
- Passion for sales, people, and technology.
- Background in engineering or technology; must be technically inclined.
- Ability to speak publicly to groups of different sizes with varied backgrounds.
- Demonstrated track record of closing new business and exceeding sales targets.
- Ability to sell consultatively by listening to customer needs and shaping a shared vision.
- Ability to navigate a mainly mechanical engineering-focused customer base.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills both internally and externally.
- 2-5 years of selling experience; mix of inside and outside sales preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time within assigned territory.
- Prior HVAC experience is a plus.
