Job Overview

Responsibilities

  • Develop compelling solutions to customer needs that differentiate from competitors and support customer success.
  • Understand and anticipate customer needs, keeping internal stakeholders informed.
  • Engage in tactical and strategic account planning to achieve objectives.
  • Develop and implement joint customer strategies for mutual benefit.
  • Manage expectations about product targeting and usage.
  • Build and manage internal and external relationships with key leaders.
  • Establish positive influence through effective communication to drive behaviors and build credibility.
  • Foster trusting, collaborative environments internally and externally.
  • Influence specification and acceptance of products.
  • Prioritize activities and optimize time and resources through effective planning.
  • Leverage internal resources and external influencers to progress sales opportunities.
  • Embrace technology such as CRM, virtual tools, and electronic commerce.
  • Act as a brand ambassador and model core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a Technical field.
  • Five or more years of sales experience in construction and/or building materials market segments.
  • Ideal team player: hungry, humble, and smart.
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Sense of urgency and bias for action.
  • Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles.
  • Understanding of the product portfolio and competitive value.
  • Knowledge of market segments, channels, and customer business models.
  • Understanding of key competitors’ strengths and weaknesses.
  • Proven track record of success in selling skills, listening, probing, identifying buying signals, and negotiating.
  • Ability to adapt tactically and strategically to changing market conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Willingness to travel overnight 50%-60% of the time.
